Why did we post this video? Not to make fun of anyone but for two reasons:
1) Technique matters! This guy is moving fast, but he also is sacrificing a lot of technique on the Sumo Deadlift High Pull and Overhead squat. Technique not only help keep movement efficient, it also helps to prevent injury.
2) Working out with less than perfect form does not guarantee injury. To be clear, we don’t want to see anybody do SDHPs or Overhead squats like these, but notice how he doesn’t break his spine because his back rounded? Or that his knees didn’t explode because he got in his toes during the squats?
Today, like everyday, we hope to find that balance between technique and intensity, where you are moving as best you can as fast you can. With that in mind, it might require you to use less weight on the bar. We do this to help you develop good movement mechanics and to help keep you safe.
