Why This Is the Best CrossFit Video You’ll Ever See
“If you want something in life, go for it.”
“You have to be mentally strong before you can get physically strong,” says CrossFit athlete Krystal Cantu in a new video for The Box. “You need to have the right mindset to get you through the workout.”
Cantu’s dedication to her sport is enough to motivate us all to get to the gym. But what makes her story truly inspiring is that two years ago, Cantu’s right arm was amputated as a result of a car accident.
A few months prior to the crash, Cantu had begun CrossFitting, and as soon as she could return to the box (a CrossFit gym), she was back at it. “I became a lot more determined after the accident,” she tells the magazine.
Instead of putting her passions aside, Cantu learned how to adapt her movements so she could continue to do what she loved. “If you want something in life, go for it,” she says. And while there will be roadblocks and plateaus in your workouts and in life, Cantu shows us that having the support of loved ones, as well as developing an indomitable spirit, will keep you physically and mentally fit.
